Berry Tramel: OSU coach Mike Gundy is underappreciated in Oklahoma

On the job Mike Gundy has done with Oklahoma State:

I think Gundy is underrated and underappreciated in the state, because of the OU shadow. I think he's fairly appreciated outside the state.

On the Big 12 conference adding BYU:

There's nothing not to like. I would love to have BYU in the Big 12. It would no doubt be a financial bonanza for the Big 12. And the Big 12 would bring BYU the prestige it currently lacks.

On which running back will be better in the NFL - OU's DeMarco Murray or OSU's Kendall Hunter:

I'd take DeMarco in the NFL. I think Hunter is just so small, he's likely to get fewer chances.

On the Thunder adding free-agent center Kendrick Perkins of the Boston Celtics in the offseason:

I love Kendrick Perkins. I think his price will be high. $10 million a year? That depends on his health. And also, who knows what the new collective bargaining will bring in terms of contract stuff? But the Thunder loves Perkins. The Thunder drafted Cole Aldrich in hopes of getting a cheap Perkins.
