Did I hear something about a 1988 team reunion/alumni game for OU hoops, Berry? Do you know the details? Shoulda won a title that year.

I don't know the details, but I have heard that one is in the making. It would be the 25-year anniversary of the best team most of us have ever seen in-state.

Berry, the losses Oklahoma is having are starting to look like 2011. Not a good thing. Does this change your mind on them contending for a Big 12 or national title?

No. I'm not too worried about offensive line losses. I think most teams like OU can withstand O-line losses. The Sooners weren't overpowering anyone anyway. And pass blocking is more of just getting in the way. Now, if the Sooners were to play a power team in the Big Bowl, they certainly would wish they had Habern and Evans. But I didn't even have OU winning the Big 12 in the first place.

Who do you got in the North Carolina State-Tennessee game? I know that game is one of the first to start the season. Seems O'Brien is turning the wolfpack into a pretty good ball team.

I'm torn. I don't go around cheering for SEC teams, but my new pastor was born and raised in Knoxville and is the biggest Tennessee fan going. Huge Vol fan. He's taking to the Sooners, too, but he loves Tennessee. And I love him. So I might have to pull for the Vols. I think Tennessee will be tough to beat in Atlanta against NC State. I don't know that I share your enthusiam for O'Brien in Raleigh.

Do you think TCU or Notre Dame will beat OU?

No. TCU has a better chance, but I think the Sooners win both of those games.

I noticed yesterday the NBC broadcaster referred to the Australian Basketball team as the "Boomers." I immediately thought of you and laughed.

GREAT! I got an email from someone of obviously lower character than yourself, telling me to watch the game and see the real Boomers. I should have told him the real Boomers are in Woodward.

Berry, it's about a month until OU's first home game against Florida A&M. What is taking them this long to announced if its going to be on the new network or PPV?

I think formation of the new network. The details haven't been ironed out. But you're right. It's high time they announced that.

Favorite Olympic sport?

Track and field. I have to be honest. Track and field -- well, track; the field is just so-so -- has rekindled my passion. What great events every night. The hurdles and the sprints. Just superb.

Where's Jenni been? I miss her.

Jenni had her baby on June 13. She returns from maternity leave on Aug. 20.

Did you enjoy the Switzer/Pat Jones stuff at the Hall of Fame banquet?

I skipped the banquet. I know, off with my head. But I had a church board meeting that night. So I went to the reception at the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame earlier. Which I thoroughly enjoyed. Talked to all the honorees -- did video interviews with Fergie, Dewey Selmon and Pat Jones -- and saw a bunch of other Hall of Famers. Switzer told me what he had planned, and I saw the video, which was a hoot. But I've got to tell you. I'm glad I missed it. 42 minutes for the Pat Jones intro/speech? Too long.

Excluding past history and only looking at the present and future, rank these Big 12 football programs: OK State, TCU and WVU.

1. OSU; 2. WVU; 3. TCU. What is there not to like about OSU's football future? The Cowboys have pristine facilities, a roster full of good ballplayers and the 2011 Big 12 trophy.
