Actually, all kinds of people don't lose their jobs over drunk driving, etc. Whole lot of people, we don't even know they got arrested. But the NFL clearly, under Roger Goodell, is taking steps to clean up its streets. Baseball can't do much of anything, because its union is so strong, though I would say that baseball players generally stay more on the straight and narrow than do football and basketball players.
Do you think Big 12 coaches will say much about Joe Paterno/Penn State next week?
I don't know, but I hope they show better sense than did Gary Pinkel. Listen, say you feel sorry for Paterno. Say you don't know enough about it to speak. Say whatever you want. But don't give some glowing tribute to Faux Pa.

When do you think that the NFL and NBA are going to have enough of their players getting thrown in jail, DUI charges, and drug possession and just start kicking guys out of the league? If we got caught doing any of that stuff as normal people we would lose our jobs, so why don't they? Is this really the image these two leagues want?
