COMMENTARY — But a warning: The unit could be high risk, high reward again.

  • Why can't OU and OSU play Arkansas?

Berry Tramel | Published: Wed, Aug 20, 2014

I drove over to Arkansas this week. Photographer Nate Billings and I went to Fayetteville for a story on Razorback athletic director Jeff Long, the chairman of the new College Football Playoff selection committee. Our package will appear Sunday in The Oklahoman’s annual football preview. But the...

  • Should mid-majors drop down in football?

Jason Dunigan is the West Virginia fan who emails me from time to time and almost always has something interesting to say. This week was no different. OSU’s season opener is just 11 days away, and the questions facing OSU are the same. Linebacker, safety, offensive line. Quarterback, I suppose. But a position that is not on the list shows the evolution of the Cowboy program. OSU is stacked on the defensive line. Mike Gundy said it in the spring...

  • Joe Mixon will always be the guy who hit the girl

BY BERRY TRAMEL | Published: Mon, Aug 18, 2014

No plea, no verdict, no court decision of any kind, will change that. Mixon has begun a sentence that will take years to serve.
