Bethany teen dies after car crash near Henryetta

Gwendolyn Hansen, 15, of Bethany, died about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after a car crash that morning east of Henryetta left her critically injured, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

A Bethany teenager died Tuesday night at a Tulsa hospital after a car in which she was riding hit a tree that morning near Henryetta.

Gwendolyn Hansen, 15, of Bethany, died about 7:30 p.m. of injuries suffered in the crash, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

About 11:10 a.m., a car driven by Robert Paglia, 19, of Spencer, was eastbound on Interstate 40, about 3 miles east of Henryetta. Paglia changed lanes to go around a tractor-trailer, left the road and hit a tree, according to patrol reports.

Hansen and another passenger, Ryan Graham, 16, also of Bethany, were pinned in the car and freed by Henryetta firefighters. Both were taken by helicopter to St. John Hospital in Tulsa, troopers reported.

Paglia refused treatment at the scene.
