Bethany woman, Tulsa man die in wrecks

A Bethany woman died Saturday and a Tulsa man died Sunday morning in vehicle crashes on Oklahoma roads, authorities said.

Dovie Christine Rose, 52, Bethany

Rose was pronounced dead at the scene after a car she was in was hit by a pickup about 4:15 p.m. Saturday in Norman, according to police.

The pickup was going southbound on Berry Road and failed to stop at a red light and hit Rose's car driving east on Lindsey Street, Norman police said in a news release.

Another person in the car and the driver of the pickup were taken to Norman Regional Hospital, police said.

The driver of the pickup and the second person in the car were not identified by police.

Daniel Evan Cornelius, 33, Tulsa

Cornelius died Sunday morning after his motorcycle crashed in Sequoyah County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Cornelius was driving a motorcycle westbound on Interstate 40 about five miles west of Sallisaw about 5:10 a.m. when his bike left the road and struck a guardrail, throwing him 50 feet, troopers said.

Cornelius died at the scene, the patrol said.

He was wearing a helmet.
