— The Bethany YMCA, 3400 Mueller Ave., was on lockdown starting about 10 a.m. Friday because of a standoff with a man in a house across the street.

Police snipers were on the roof of the YMCA and tactical team members told people to stay inside during the ordeal. Children on the YMCA soccer field had to evacuate.

People were allowed to leave the building when the standoff ended about 11:45 a.m., a YMCA spokesman said.

Bethany police have not released any information about the incident.
