DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Bethune-Cookman's Brian Jenkins is building a program he believes can not only compete for Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference titles, but also make a splash in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

The coach believes the Wildcats got even stronger Wednesday when the school announced a recruiting class of 23 prospects.

Jenkins said the group, which includes 17 players from the state of Florida, is talented and will increase competition at most positions.

The Wildcats also signed two players from Pennsylvania and three from Georgia. Two quarterbacks, four running backs and six wide receivers were among the signees.
