Bible Lesson

“And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.”

1 Corinthians 13:13

Faith is “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). To approach God, we must “believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him” (Hebrews 11:1, 6). The Bible teaches that faith in God can bring lasting happiness, but learning that we have lived disobedient to God and displeasing to others and ourselves can give us endless sorrow. Understanding that Jesus Christ came into the world to solve the problems our sins have created can give us hope. Accepting the way to eternal happiness that God provided for those who trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior can fill us with love for God the Father; love for Jesus; love for those who shared the good news of saving faith with us; love for those who teach us the Scriptures; love for those who encourage us; love for those the Holy Spirit leads us to serve according to the will of God; and love for our friends and enemies.
