TUTTLE — Running off the field after Friday’s 35-14 victory over Clinton, Tuttle’s Ethan Biddy was exhausted.

He had good reason to be.

Biddy, normally a part-time back sharing carries with Paco Moore, had to take over as the Tigers’ main running threat and carried 43 times for 146 yards and scored twice as No. 1 Tuttle handled the No. 3 Red Tornadoes.

"I would never have believed that,” Biddy said. "We never want to see Paco get hurt, but it was nice to have this chance.”

Biddy didn’t do it with much flash, either. Only two of his carries went for more than nine yards.

"I’m not quick enough to slash and all that stuff,” he said. "I’ll just grind it out.”

And a big difference from last year’s Tuttle team is the Tigers’ improved offensive line.

"We’re considerably better than we were last year up front,” coach Phil Koons said. "We’re bigger, stronger and we’ve got a bit of a chip on our shoulders this year.”

Tuttle goes into Thursday’s game at Newcastle undefeated. Clinton heads home to take on Cache on Friday trying to rebound from its second loss of the season.
