The entire Big 12 Baseball Tournament will be nationally televised for the first time following the announcement Wednesday that Fox Sports Media Group is bringing the tourney to a national audience. Fox Sports Net will air the Sunday championship game, and Fox College Sports will air all the games leading to the final.

The tournament at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City runs May 22 through May 26.

“The Big 12 Conference is excited to showcase its baseball programs to a live television audience,” Commissioner Bob Bowlsby said in a news release. “Oklahoma City and the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship have annually produced some of the country’s best collegiate baseball. We appreciate our partnership with the Fox Sports Media Group and welcome the additional exposure.”

Bob Licht, former Hornets TV announcer; Jack Lazorko, former major-league relief pitcher; Chad McKee, former KWTV-9 sports reporter; and Jay Payton, former major-league outfielder, will call the games. The group has spent this season covering Big 12 teams for FSN.

The tournament is played under a two-division, double-elimination format. The eight teams with the best league records in the regular season competition qualify for the event and are divided into two divisions with seeds 1, 4, 5 and 8 in division one and seeds 2, 3, 6 and 7 in division two. There is no cross-division play until two teams reach the championship game on Sunday.
