Big 12 baseball: OU beats Bedlam rival OSU on Garrett Carey's walk-off home run

OU 1, OSU 0 -- Oklahoma State pitcher Andrew Heaney had held Oklahoma to two hits over 8 innings on Wednesday morning. But it just took one hit in the ninth, a walk-off shot by OU's Garrett Carey, to give the Sooners the victory.

Oklahoma hadn't scored a run on Cowboys ace Andrew Heaney in 17 innings this season.

When they finally broke through Wednesday – on Garrett Carey's walk-off home run in the ninth inning – it was enough to claim the opener of the Big 12 Tournament at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Leading off the bottom of the ninth, Carey drilled Heaney's 1-1 pitch into the stands in left field for a 1-0 win.

Heaney, who shut out OU on three hits in the Bedlam series opener in Tulsa, had allowed just two hits – both singles – into the ninth at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. But the Sooners were getting zeroes from the mound, too, first by starter Dillon Overton, then closer Steven Okert.
