Baylor catcher Josh Ludy hit a lot this year against pretty well everybody. But no opposing team hated to see the recently named Big 12 Player of the Year come to the plate more than Kansas State.

In Wednesday's Big 12 Tournament opener, Ludy hit a pair of home runs and drove in six runs to tie a tournament record.

Afterward, he spoke with The Oklahoman's Ryan Aber.

Question: Was it frustrating not to get a pitch to hit your fourth time up?

Ludy: “Obviously I want a pitch to hit there but at the same time, I'm still going to get a run in (with a bases-loaded walk). All we were trying to do is win the game and get as many runs as we can, so I'm OK with it.”

You're 11 for 15 with six home runs and 17 RBIs against the Wildcats this season. Every time you go to the plate against them are you getting the feeling that something good is about to happen?

“It's just a comfort feeling. I'm just going up feeling like I'm in charge of it and trying to have the attitude that they can't get me out.”

What's it like looking back on your career so far, coming from not even being the Bears' second catcher after your sophomore season to being named the conference player of the year?
