Baylor 4, Kansas 3

Baylor kept its season alive behind a four-run third inning to top Kansas 4-3 on Thursday morning in the Big 12 Tournament at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Bears (25-30) got RBI singles from Lawton Langford, Grayson Porter, and Aaron Dodson in the third. Starter Drew Tolson pitched six innings to get the win, and Josh Michalec set a new Big 12 record with his 21st save of the season.

Kansas (34-24) threatened in the sixth, scoring two runs to make it 4-3. The Jayhawks nearly tied it on a Ka’iana Eldredge single to left field, but Connor McKay was thrown out at the plate by left fielder Porter.

“I started preparing myself when the ball was hit towards me, thinking about where I had to throw it,” Porter said. “I let it fly and we were able to get him out.”
