Big 12 football: Art Briles, Baylor need a win over Texas to keep 2013 special

Baylor closes out quite a memorable regular season Saturday against Texas.

It's the final game in Floyd Casey Stadium history. The Bears open a glittering new stadium on the Brazos River next season.

It's also Baylor's chance for a Big 12 championship, either tied with OSU or, should the Cowboys lose to OU, outright.

And it's a chance to beat Texas for the third time in four years. Only twice before has Baylor won three of four from the Longhorns.

So emotions will be running high in what would be an adequate capper to a great Baylor season. But lose to Texas, and suddenly this Baylor season loses luster. The Bears would have two losses in their final three games, sandwiched around a closer-than-expected win at TCU.

Art Briles has carved out a great story at Baylor. But to keep 2013 special, the Bears need to beat Texas.
