Sams is a redshirt junior "looking for a fresh start after losing K-State’s starting job to Jake Waters last season," says Kellis Robinett of the Star. Sams was attempting to convert to wide receiver in spring practices.
Sams has two more years of eligibility. He served as the team's primary quarterback in close losses to Oklahoma State and Baylor.
Sams was 15-of-21 for 181 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions against OSU in a 33-29 loss.
He rushed for seven yards on three carries in a 41-31 loss to OU.
