When OU beat Notre Dame four weeks ago, the Sooner rebuilding job seemed on accelerated pace. But after three sluggish (at best) performances, the OU rebuilding has slowed dramatically.

OU has lost the only head-to-head meeting so far this season of the Big 12's five contenders. Now the Sooners host Texas Tech on Saturday, and the Red Raiders are ranked 10th. Lose to Tech, and OU's conference title hopes are virtually gone.

The Sooners still play Baylor and OSU, but both on the road.

Bob Stoops is in good standing with everyone of sound mind in Soonerville, from administration to fans. But lose to Texas Tech, and the realization will sink in deeper that OU is far from previous championship status.
