Big 12 football: Shaky offense has OU's Josh Heupel on the hot seat

Josh Heupel's first two seasons as the OU offensive coordinator were mostly successful. A few pitfalls arose, but Landry Jones bore most of the brunt.

Now, another stumble, with a mediocre performance against TCU and an awful performance against Texas. And while Blake Bell is a usual suspect, suddenly Heupel's acumen is in question.

Heupel did not produce a plan to exploit Texas' defensive weakness, and the Sooners failed to take advantage of a solid running attack that continually dented the Longhorns for yardage.

Saturday, the Sooners play at Kansas, which has a decent defense. Dave Campo's unit isn't the reason the Jayhawks haven't won a Big 12 game since 2010.

Another shaky game from the OU offense will focus an intense glare on Heupel.
