For all the attention spinning toward the Missouri-Nebraska matchup in Columbia, the North features a second showdown on Saturday.

Kansas State-Kansas.
The Wildcats moved into the Top 25 with their 41-21 win at Texas and must be considered a real player — if not a favorite — in the North. No. 24 K-State stands 4-1 and its one setback was a game it let get away at Auburn in the season opener.
"I'm sure KU was watching the game,” Wildcats defensive end Ian Campbell told reporters in Austin. "This game was a message to everyone, not just KU.”
The Jayhawks, while facing a soft nonconference schedule, are 4-0.
•Catching on: It took Texas Tech freshman Michael Crabtree all of five games to become the Red Raiders' record holder for touchdown receptions in a season.
With a TD grab — his third of the day — midway through the third quarter of a 75-7 rout of Northwestern State, Crabtree recorded his 14th scoring catch of the season.
That total also tied the NCAA freshman record, previously shared by Florida's Jabar Gaffney, USC's Mike Williams and Hawaii's Devone Bess.
