Brooks Raley, OF/LHP, Texas A&M

Rated as a top sophomore prospect by Baseball America, Raley has been a force for the Aggies — at the plate and on the mound. He’s among the league leaders with a .351 batting average and tops the Big 12 with 21 stolen bases in 25 tries. As A&M’s Friday night starter, he’s 7-1 with a 2.02 ERA.

Shawn Tolleson, RHP, Baylor

After winning nine games as the No. 2 man in the Bears’ rotation a year ago, Tolleson figured to take off in his sophomore season. But it hasn’t been so easy. The right-hander is 7-4, but he’s now being spotted as a starter and carrying a 4.25 ERA. Tolleson entered the season as Baseball America’s No. 18 sophomore prospect.
