Baylor players were given white T-shirts with a giant number “400” printed across the front following the Bears’ 65-61 semifinal victory over Oklahoma State, commemorating coach Kim Mulkey’s 400th career victory.

Mulkey said following the game that she didn’t know the shirts had been printed up.

“That's a lot of basketball games, and the good part about it is I don't have a lot of turnover in my staff,” Mulkey said. “Those coaches have been with me a long, long time, and the players that have come to Baylor that I got to coach, you know, when I'm in my rocking chair and hopefully grandbabies crawling all over me, I can pull out some clippings and they'll be all yelling, and I can say, see, I really did used to coach.”

“I'll go all Cruella De Vil, and I'll teach them all about the dalmatians and pull out that book.”

Mulkey was referring to Berry Tramel’s column in the Sunday Oklahoman, in which he referred to her as the “101 Dalmatians” character because of the perception that she’s a villian in women’s college hoops.

Mulkey wore a black and white jacket to Sunday’s game, and added, “This is as close as I could come to a spotted jacket. I was looking for (Tramel) today; tell him I miss him.”

COALE EXPECTS TO EARN NCAA BERTH

Despite a disappointing 18-14 record and a quick exit from the Big 12 Tournament this weekend, Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale said she believes her team has accomplished enough to earn a 15th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid.
