Player of the Year

GIOYA CARTER, CARL ALBERT

Height: 5-9

Position: Guard

Class: Senior

The story: Carter played a huge role in helping the Titans back to the state tournament for the ninth consecutive season. She averaged 18.3 points and 7.4 rebounds, as well as more than three assists and two steals per game. The Oklahoma signee came up especially big in the area consolation final, hitting a free throw and then stealing the ensuing inbounds pass in the final seconds to clinch the state tournament berth.

DIONNA COLLINS, DEL CITY

Height: 5-6

Position: Guard

Class: Senior

The story: After a knee injury cut her junior year short, Collins was sensational as a senior. She averaged 18.5 points, 2.3 assists and 3.1 steals per game in helping the Eagles back to the state tournament despite a record that finished at 13-14. Collins got stronger as the year went on and recently signed with Redlands.

ASHLEY GIBSON, DEER CREEK

Height: 5-9

Position: Forward

Class: Senior

The story: Gibson was sensational all year but never more so than in the state tournament, where she helped lift the Antlers to the 5A title. Gibson averaged 12.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 2.2 assists. She's also a top-flight defender. Recently signed with Butler Community College in Kansas.
