'Big Brother 9' winner formally charged over drugs

BOSTON (AP) — The winner of the CBS reality TV show "Big Brother 9" has been formally indicted in federal court for illegal possession of oxycodone pills with intent to distribute.
Adam Jasinski (jah-ZIN'-skee), of Delray Beach, Fla., was charged Wednesday with attempting to sell 2,000 oxycodone pills, a prescription painkiller that can produce a heroin-like high if crushed and then swallowed, snorted or injected.
The 31-year-old Jasinski faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
On Friday, a magistrate judge ordered him held without bail after a federal agent testified Jasinski told him he had been selling thousands of oxycodone pills every month in Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The agent alleges that Jasinski told him he had used the $500,000 he won on "Big Brother 9" in 2008 to buy the pills.
Jasinski was arrested Oct. 17.
