MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The national title game came down to two long passes into coverage. Sam Bradford threw the first. Tim Tebow threw the second. Both went Florida's way.

With OU trailing 17-14 in the fourth quarter, Bradford took a snap from midfield and threw deep over the middle to flanker Juaquin Iglesias, his sure-handed senior. Iglesias leaped and grabbed the ball, but Florida safety Ahmad Black took the ball away from Iglesias as they fell to the turf. The interception came with 9:59 left in the game.

“That's where the game was won,” said Florida coach Urban Meyer.

Seven plays later, on second-and-11 from the OU 49-yard line, Tebow threw into coverage. But David Nelson made a diving catch with safety Nic Harris draped over him, and the Gators had a 29-yard gain.

Five plays later, Florida scored to take a 10-point lead with 3:07 left.

“We came up a play or two short,” OU coach Bob Stoops said. “They made ‘em.”
