Oklahoma birth date records opinion is explained

Attorney General Drew Edmondson ’s opinion regarding the release of employee birth dates states that because birth dates are not specifically exempt from the Oklahoma Open Records Act, they are presumed open.

The opinion also states that government agencies claiming a privacy exception must weigh an individual employee’s privacy against the public’s interest in knowing the information.
