— A little soul used her birthday to get soles for the feet of orphans so less-fortunate children could go to school.

Bree Johnson, 7, daughter of Pam and Damon Johnson, of Edmond, decided that for her birthday on April 7 she would do something different this year. She asked for shoes for children in Africa.

Bree and her family listen to KLOVE radio and had heard that kids all over the world cannot go to school unless they have shoes to fit their feet. Shoes for Orphan Souls is a national organization that sends shoes to children all over the world.

To get involved, go to buckner.org/shoes.

A kindergartner at Cassidy School, Bree has a sister, Bryce Johnson.

Her grandparents are Shonsy and Rick Sybert and Richard and Sondra Johnson.
