Black history celebration set

MIDWEST CITY — The African American History Celebration at Rose State College will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today in the student center.

Kevin McPherson will be the featured speaker. He is principal of Marcus Garvey Leadership Charter School in Oklahoma City, and is the president and chief executive of the McPherson Group.

A panel will discuss multiculturalism, along with a special display honoring Clara Luper, a pioneer in the Oklahoma Civil Rights movement. This event is free and open to everyone. There will be a light lunch and entertainment will be presented by the Douglass High School Choir and the Rose State College Step Team.
