BLACKBURN, England (AP) — Blackburn has hired former player Henning Berg as its new manager.

The second-tier club said Wednesday that the Norwegian has accepted an offer to take the vacant position and will be officially presented on Thursday. Blackburn have been without a full-time manager since Steve Kean resigned in September, having faced constant criticism from fans since Blackburn was relegated from the Premier League last season. It is currently fifth in the League Championship.
