Blake Griffin was disconsolate Wednesday night after learning of the death of friend Wilson Holloway. The rookie phenom had his head in his hands when the media entered the Clippers' locker room after L.A.'s victory at Minnesota.

Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro and veteran guard Baron Davis spoke at length to Griffin after the game.

Griffin and Holloway were high school teammates at Oklahoma Christian School.

Holloway, who received a football scholarship from Tulsa, battled cancer for the past three years. He died Wednesday from complications of Hodgkin's lymphoma.

A memorial candlelight service for Wilson Holloway will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Oklahoma Christian School.

Holloway's funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond.

Griffin is expected to compete in the slam dunk contest Saturday, then play in the All-Star Game on Sunday in Los Angeles.
