Oklahoma country music superstar Blake Shelton’s sold-out “Ten Times Crazier Tour” wrapped up with shows Thursday in Kansas City, Mo., Friday in Tulsa, and his final performance in Wichita, Kan., bringing the critically acclaimed concert series to a close.
The 30-date tour, which kicked off in July, was praised by fans and critics alike with the reigning Country Music Association Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year selling out amphitheaters and arenas across the U.S.
“I must thank my band and crew for making this tour my best. They go out every night and give their all not only to me, but to the fans, and having them on stage and backstage with me every night makes me want to give more and push myself creatively,” said Shelton in a news release “Of course my fans, those rowdy, crazy, fun-loving folks that come out and sing every song, and laugh at my jokes, and toast with me – they keep me going every night – I love you guys. Thank you for making ‘Ten Times Crazier Tour’ my biggest tour yet. I can’t wait to see you next year!”
The Tishomingo resident is CMA Awards’ reigning Entertainer of the Year and three-peat Male Vocalist of the Year. With nine consecutive No. 1 singles (14 overall) the Ada native is one of the “most versatile of contemporary country singers” (The New York Times).
His infectious multi-week No.1 hit, “Honey Bee,” still holds the record for the fastest-selling digital platinum single for a male country solo artist, and just off the heels of his No. 1 smash hit “Boys ‘Round Here,” from his critically-acclaimed album “Based On A True Story…,” the follow up single, “Mine Would Be You,” is already Top 10 on the charts.
“To A Purist Mr. Shelton is a savvy student of tradition. To A Would-be outlaw he’s forever adding a wink. He’s a star who is only as explicit as you want him to be,” said Jon Caramanica, The New York Times.
Shelton’s passion for country music and his commitment to mentoring his teammates from “The Voice,” which is in its fifth hit season on NBC, make him an incredible ambassador for country music. For more information, go to www.BlakeShelton.com.
