A gas explosion at the Redbud Energy Project Power Plant near Luther injured a man Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Workers shut off the gas immediately after the explosion about 5:45 p.m. The injured man, whose name was not released, was taken to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, an Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department dispatcher said.

The plant, located at 20922 Triple X Road, is still under construction and is scheduled to begin operating in the middle of 2003, according to the Web site of the plant owner, InterGen of Burlington, Mass.
