Could they?? No, really?? April 20, 2008 | Comment on this article Leave a comment By Robert Przybylo Bprzybylo@Oklahoman.com Hey, apologize for the lack of bloggings (is that a word?) lately. Had my hands full with the paint horse, Got Country Grip. Too bad he was denied that 17th straight win. Remington Park was absolutely deflated after he lost. But what a success with more than 12,000... Read More

I have and plenty of times I’ve given up on it before seeing it through. But not Jeff Tompkins, the new Edmond North boys basketball coach. Tompkins made... Read More
Round 3 to West April 08, 2008 By Robert Przybylo BPrzybylo@Oklahoman.com  Didn’t take too long for that third outing between tennis stars Eric West of Tulsa Union and Jenks’ Omar Aly. Not too long at all. West beat the sophomore for the third time this year, 6-4, 6-1, in the finals of the Ada Tournament on Saturday. But there is... Read More
Irish eyes smiling... March 30, 2008 By Robert Przybylo BPrzybylo@Oklahoman.com After watching the McGuinness girls tennis team Friday at the Heritage Hall Tournament of Champions, would it be wrong to crown them the champs now? Well, yeah, but this is one dynamic squad. There’s no letdown from No. 1 singles to No. 2 doubles, it’s insane.... Read More
Anxiously awaiting the next installment March 30, 2008 By Robert Przybylo BPrzybylo@Oklahoman.com Being based in OKC has its advantages and disadvantages. One of the biggest downers for me is the lack of opportunities to see kids from the Tulsa powers, Union, Jenks, etc. So The Boneman made it his No. 1 priority to be at Heritage Hall all weekend for the Tournament... So, how's your bracket March 18, 2008 By Robert Przybylo BPrzybylo@Oklahoman.com Less than an hour away from the Coppin State and Mt. St. Mary’s game, just wondering what our high school readers are thinking for March Madness. Remember, you can’t have a perfect bracket if you don’t win this play-in game. For the record, I have Coppin State.... Read More
Some things are more important than the gold ball March 11, 2008 By Ray Martin rmartin@oklahoman.com Saturday was a crazy day of basketball, to say the least. If you read The Oklahoman Monday, I hope you’re convinced it was the best day of high school basketball ever in this state. So I waited for the smoke to clear to write about this. It’s something that stuck out to... Read More
Mayberry is new sheriff in town March 09, 2008 By Robert Przybylo BPrzybylo@Oklahoman.com If you get that Andy Griffith pun, then you’re as bad and hokey as me. After a great opening session at State Fair, it was off to the Ford Center for some 5A girls basketball. Booker T. Washington vs. Coweta, 5A girls: I was impressed with the Hornets’ Taleya... Hangover from The Big House March 09, 2008 By Robert Przybylo BPrzybylo@Oklahoman.com That’s all I can really say to try to describe what transpired Saturday and the way I felt today. There are a few times when you know you’re witnessing history. Saturday was one of those days. I won’t dwell too much into games I didn’t see, but here’s what I... Read More
5A girls semifinals definitely worth your time March 07, 2008 By Zach West zwest@oklahoman.com  Four games, four double-digit victories.  That pretty much summarizes my day covering the 5A girls quarterfinals.  (That is, unless you count the 30 minutes I spent frantically trying to figure out if people were just goofing off or if Putnam... Can anyone stop the Indians? March 07, 2008 By Ray Martin rmartin@oklahoman.com I have spent a day and a half at State Fair Arena watching the 3A boys, and I know one thing for sure: If anyone other than Sequoyah Tahlequah is going to win this thing, they have to stop Mike Soap and Bucky Ross. It’s a tall order, and I’m not so sure any can get it... Read More
This week, Sequoyah has home-court advantage March 06, 2008 By Ray Martin rmartin@oklahoman.com Not many teams draw a large fan base at 2 p.m. on a Thursday. But the Sequoyah-Tahlequah Indian fans were hoopin’ and hollerin’ more than an hour before tipoff at State Fair Arena. . A Sequoyah fan told me they expect to fill up one side of the big house if the Indians... Read More

Revenge on their minds March 03, 2008 By Ray Martin rmartin@oklahoman.com The Dale girls high school basketball teams’ goal for the upcoming state tournament is clear: get to the finals, and avenge a regular season, triple-overtime loss to top-ranked Konawa. Dale senior Tarra Kania said she can’t get the loss out of her mind. “That is what... Read More
No last-second bummer this time March 02, 2008 By Robert Przybylo BPrzybylo@Oklahoman.com Man, I hate to take away anything from the Howe girls, but the thing that stood out to me was how impressive Autumn Klugh was for Fort Cobb-Broxton. I gave them a slim to none shot of knocking off Preston. And trailing 30-16 in the third quarter against Howe, it was... Read More
Next stop: Pullman March 02, 2008 By Robert Przybylo BPrzybylo@Oklahoman.com I know a lot of fans in Class B will be glad to see Stringtown’s James Watson head out to Pac-10 country at Washington State.
