Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) is teaming up with Kickapoo Casino to boost the summer blood supply. All healthy area residents, 16 and older*, are encouraged to donate blood 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, July 5, at Kickapoo Casino.

Each donor will receive a special edition 2013 All-American T-shirt, $10 Match Play and two free admissions to the Oklahoma City Zoo.

“Holidays put incredible stress on the blood supply for patients in our state,” said John Armitage, M.D., Oklahoma Blood Institute president and chief executive. “We are grateful for all donors who make time to help their fellow Oklahomans who will need blood through the summer, when our donations tend to decline.”

Blood donations can be made every 56 days. Oklahoma Blood Institute is the eighth largest, non-profit blood center in America, providing every drop of blood needed by patients in 140 medical facilities across Oklahoma, including those in south central and southeast Oklahoma.

To schedule an appointment to donate blood, call 1-877-340-8777, or visit www.obi.org
