The Oklahoma Blood Institute called me to come in because their supply was critical. On Dec. 10, I went to the OBI donation center at NW 50 and Portland, which opens at 10 a.m. Several of us were standing outside at 9:50. It was very cold. One family had small children with them. OBI has a waiting area just inside the door and could have let us in to wait where it was warm.
At exactly 10, the doors were opened. I've been a regular donor since 1981. I'm sad to say that I've witnessed the decline of customer service over the years. The efficiency and friendliness is just not evident as it once was. Donors are the source of their success; OBI staff members need to act like it.
