Holden recorded 17:19 total ice time and had a plus-1 rating in two games with Columbus. He had four goals and 18 assists in 44 games with Springfield prior to his brief call-up due to injuries to veteran defensemen.

Holden was originally signed by the Blue Jackets as a free agent on March 28, 2008. The 6-foot-4, 207-pound blue-liner signed a one-year contract extension with Columbus in each of the past two summers.

He is scoreless in seven career NHL games.
