Another energy company is putting down roots in Oklahoma City.

Blueknight Energy Partners LP announced Monday that it has established its corporate headquarters in MidTown, moving into the former Packard dealership at 201 NW 10.

“The designation of our new Oklahoma City corporate headquarters in the historic MidTown district fits within our long-term growth plan to elevate our presence and pursue opportunities with energy companies operating in this part of the country,” said Michael Cockrell, Blueknight's president and chief operating officer. “Oklahoma City has positioned itself as a top-tier location for energy companies and corporate headquarters, and we are pleased to contribute to that distinction.”

Blueknight, a one-time subsidiary of SemGroup Corp., had been based in Tulsa. The midstream company will maintain a regional office there for its accounting, financial services, human resources and information technology functions.

Blueknight has about 500 employees, with 150 in Oklahoma, including 30 in Oklahoma City and 35 in Tulsa.

Officials decided last fall to move Blueknight's Edmond office to the larger space in MidTown because it was a more convenient location for its employees in central Oklahoma.
