Oklahoma Election Board asks appeals court to overturn Islamic law ruling

DENVER — The Oklahoma Election Board asked an appeals court Monday to let the board certify November’s voter-approved ban against state judges considering Islamic law in making their court decisions.

The board told the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that a lower court judge in Oklahoma City was wrong to bar the board from certifying the election results against Sharia law.
