Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said he's never cared about his players having piercings, tattoos or long hair, so long as those things don't interfere with football and academic responsibilities.

He said he feels the same way about his players' Twitter use.

“As long as they got to class and work hard and be good kids, I don't care what they look like,” Stoops said. “It's the same with the other stuff. As long as they're doing it responsibly.”

The player who receives the most attention for his appearance is junior receiver Kenny Stills, who sports a mohawk, lots of tattoos and a lip ring.

“Young people always have their personalities and characters,” Stoops said. “To me, that's what I enjoy about the game. They're all different and they're all … they're pretty entertaining. Let them be what they want.

“As long as you're going to class and being the best player you can be and doing the things off the field — the lifting, the appointments, being responsible in your daily activity — wear your hair however you want. Have as many pierced ears as you want or whatever else.

“I can go back to Seth Littrell. He had piercings everywhere. He was as solid a guy as you can have.”

Littrell was OU's fullback during Stoops' first two seasons in Norman, and is now Indiana's offensive coordinator.

Oklahoma co-offensive coordinator Josh Heupel said the offensive line hasn't been as noticeable the last several weeks.
