A body found Saturday in a burning car in northwest Oklahoma City could be identified Monday, a medical examiner's spokeswoman said.

The body was found about 6:30 a.m. at the Willow Cliff Apartments. The sex of the victim has not been determined, said Amy Elliott, medical examiner's spokeswoman.

Elliott said the medical examiner hopes to have information Monday afternoon.

Police and firefighters responded to the 5400 block of Willow Cliff Road where the car fire was extinguished. The body was found inside.

From the injuries, it is clear this person was the victim of a homicide, police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

A small fire also was reported Sunday night at the apartment complex. Wardlow said any possible connection to the Saturday homicide is being investigated.

Wardlow said no arrests have been made in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the police homicide tip line at 297-1200. Callers can remain anonymous, and may be eligible for a cash reward. has disabled the comments for this article.
