Police are investigating a body found on a rural road in northeast Oklahoma City.

A crew of tree trimmers found the body about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in a tree line in the 7500 block of E Wilshire Boulevard, Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

Wardlow did not identify the sex, age or condition of the body, but said the death was suspicious and is being investigated as a homicide.

The road was cordoned off with yellow tape between N Air Depot and N Midwest Blvd.

Michael Randazzo, who lives less than a mile from the crime scene, waited for the road to clear so he could get home.

Randazzo said he and his family moved to the area from St. Louis seven months ago, seeking a quiet life of country living. He and his wife drove by this location several times on Tuesday.

It's not a road with much traffic, he said.

“I've run across more bicycles than I do traffic most of the time,” he said. “It's freaky, just to know I drove by a dead body.”
