EDMOND — A man who was found dead Wednesday afternoon near Interstate 35 is thought to be a transient who was out of work, police spokeswoman Jennifer Monroe said Thursday.
Police have made a preliminary identification but are awaiting confirmation from the state medical examiner, Monroe said.
The man's body was found east of I-35 between Memorial Road and E 33rd by city workers who were mowing the area.
Police said his personal belongings were found nearby, indicating he may have been camping there.
Monroe said the death doesn't appear to be suspicious, but the medical examiner will determine the cause.
