WATERTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities in northern New York are awaiting results of an autopsy on a body found floating near a hydroelectric plant.
State police say workers were cleaning ice on Tuesday morning with a caterpillar tractor when they discovered the body of a male in the Black River at the Glen Park hydroelectric dam in Watertown.
Troopers confirmed the body of a 260-pound white male, about six feet tall with a beard and mustache, black hair and brown eyes, was recovered in chunks of ice. The body was taken to the Jefferson County medical examiner's office for examination.
Police say they have no reports of missing men.
The hydroelectric plant is operated by Northbrook Energy, which did not return a phone call from The Associated Press seeking comment.
