UPDATE: Body of man found in roadway in Norman; streets reopened

A body of a man was found at Rock Creek Road and 60th Avenue NW. Police have not identified the victim.

11:45 a.m. The name of a man found dead in the roadway has not been released, police said. All intersections that were closed Friday morning have been reopened, Capt. Tom Easley reports. The man's body has been taken to the state medical examiner's office, where a cause of death will be determined.

7:20 a.m. The body found in the roadway in Norman is of a male, police said. Police are continuing their investigation. Check NewsOK.com for more information.

5:30 a.m. NORMAN – The body of a person has been found lying in the roadway at Rock Creek Road and 60th Avenue NW, said police Lt. Chad Vincent.

The person is dead at the scene, Vincent said. The body was found about 4:30 a.m.

Police officers have shut down the intersection and a number of other intersections in the area as the investigation continues. Intersections closed include 72nd Avenue NW at Rock Creek Road, 60th Avenue NW at Tecumseh Road, 48th Avenue NW at Rock Creek Road and 48th Avenue NW at W Robinson Street.

Police ask motorists to find alternative routes Friday morning.
