The body of a 17-year-old boy who drowned Thursday was recovered Sunday morning, Kingfisher fire Chief Randy Poindexter said.

Taylor Faine, of Kingfisher, jumped off a spillway into Uncle John Creek Thursday evening and did not resurface, Kingfisher police reported.

The body was recovered about 7 a.m. at one of the man-made dams, south of State Highway 33, Poindexter said.

Faine and friends were in an area where signs prohibit swimming because of dangerous currents, authorities said.
