A dive team recovered the body of an Oklahoma City man presumed to have drowned while hand fishing Sunday in the North Canadian River, fire Battalion Chief Brian Stanaland said.

The state medical examiner identified the man as Jason Eric Williams, 26. The cause and manner of death are pending.

Williams reportedly went into the river Sunday evening near NE 50 and Midwest Boulevard and did not resurface.

A fire department dive team found the body about 9 a.m. Tuesday at NE 63 and Midwest Boulevard, Stanaland said.
