Body of missing boater found on Grand Lake

The body of Monte Lee Price, 39, of Jay, Oklahoma, was recovered at 2:15 p.m. in about 50 feet of water, Grand River Dam Authority spokesman Justin Alberty said.

Grand River Dam Authority police recovered the body of a Jay man missing after the boat he was a passenger in hit a breakwater structure near in the Duck Creek arm of Grand Lake, a spokesman said Sunday.

Monte Lee Price, 39, was recovered at 2:15 p.m. in about 50 feet of water, GRDA spokesman Justin Alberty said.

Price was with three others in a 20-foot boat when it collided with the breakwater structure about 2 a.m., Alberty said.

Three of the four passengers were thrown from the boat, the fourth passenger remained inside the vessel, he said. The other boaters' names and addresses were not released.

Two were flown by helicopter to Tulsa hospitals and a third was taken to Integris Grove General Hospital and then to a Tulsa hospital.

GRDA police said none of the boaters were wearing life jackets, Alberty said.

Price's body was taken to the medical examiner's office in Tulsa. The accident remains under investigation, Alberty said.
