Body recovered from Deep Fork River

Luther firefighters found a body about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Deep Fork River. Authorities are waiting for the state medical examiner to identify the body.

LUTHER — A body was recovered Wednesday afternoon from the Deep Fork River, authorities said.

Luther firefighters found the body about 2 p.m. in deep water near NE 220 and Dobbs Road, Oklahoma County sheriff's office spokesman Mark Myers said.

The state medical examiner will identify the body, he said.

On Monday, authorities were searching for the body of a 28-year-old man who went into the river near NE 178 and Peebly Road. The man was with a group of people who were drinking alcohol, witnesses said. has disabled the comments for this article.
