— Investigators are working to identify skeletal remains found in a field outside Chandler.

A man hunting for mushrooms east of Chandler came across a human skull Monday night. Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents searched the area Tuesday and discovered additional bones belonging to a single body, OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown said Wednesday. OSBI commonly assists other agencies in such investigations, Brown said.

The bones are being taken to the state medical examiner’s office to be identified and possibly determine cause of death.

Brown said investigators will begin checking missing persons reports from the area to try to find a match.

Brown said investigators believe the remains could belong to Danny McGee, who disappeared in 2010. His vehicle was found wrecked nearby.
