Paul Ryan, the 2012 Republican vice-presidential candidate and current U.S. representative for Wisconsin’s first congressional district, will make two appearances in Oklahoma on Monday to promote his book, “The Way Forward.” The book critiques the Obama presidency, analyzes the failed 2012 campaign, relates Ryan’s life story and holds that the Republican party must remain staunchly conservative.
He will sign copies of his book beginning at noon Monday at Barnes & Noble, 8620 E 71 St., Tulsa. His second signing will begin at 4 p.m. Monday at Best of Books, 1313 E Danforth, Edmond.

Oklahoma author Tom Sherrill will sign copies of his memoir, “Weeds in the Wilderness: Growing Up in Rural Oklahoma,” from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The book is a collection of 175 true stories taking him from his early childhood to high school graduation. Circle Cinema, Tulsa’s nonprofit theater, will give a $2 discount to the film, “Boyhood,” to guests who buy the book at the signing. Those already holding a ticket to “Boyhood” will get $1 off Sherill’s book.

Bayard Godsave, a well-traveled academic currently teaching writing and literature at Oklahoma’s Cameron University, will sign “Torture Tree” beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Cheryl Robinson, owner and executive officer of Associated Counseling Services Inc., will sign copies of her book, “Words of Comfort, Soothing Your Spirit Through Poems and Letters,” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The book aims “to calm your spirit and bring comfort in the midst of chaos,” according to a news release, and encourages keeping a guided journal.
