'Bountygate' def. coordinator could be back in St. Louis with Rams

The St. Louis Rams plan to hire Gregg Williams as their new defensive coordinator after firing Tim Walton, league sources told ESPN.

Williams would be the Rams' third defensive coordinator in as many seasons. He was the New Orleans Saints' DC when they won the Super Bowl in 2009-2010 and was hired to coach St. Louis's defense in 2012 before he was suspended indefinitely for his involvement in the Saints' bounty scandal. Williams was released before even coaching a game his first time around in St. Louis.

Now, he's back with the Rams, who look to turn around a defense that allowed the worst completion rate (68.1) in the league in 2013.
